Racha Yai – Home Run Reef

Homerun Reef is a popular last dive of the day as it runs north along the east side of Racha Yai and starts to take you back in the Chalong direction for the end of the dive day and another popular place for learner divers.

Made up of mostly hard corals including staghorn, branch and pore coral and is suitable for all levels of divers although at times the current heading north can be quite strong and care should be taken. The reef starts at 5 meters and slopes down to 20 meters where it becomes a sandy bottom.

The site has some lovely schools of snappers and goatfish including the two spot snapper and yellow snapper. Trumpet and Cornet fish are also popular. Some large rays have been seen here as to have Leopard sharks and just recently Blacktip reef sharks have made an appearance again.

Dive boats go to Racha Yai every day of the week as a part of a 3 dive combo with Racha Noi. There is also a two dive trip to Racha Yai, running everyday of the week as well.

All scuba diving dive sites are at the discretion of the tour leader on the day. Dive sites are selected based on the weather conditions, currents, safety and suitability to majority of divers on the boat. We cannot guarantee specific dive sites prior to the boat departing.
